How to read these numbers

Recruiter-guide figures cover base salary plus fixed allowances and exclude bonus; they are shown reduced by 10% here because published guides describe packages whose cash value varies by employer. Investment banking and strategy consulting figures exclude bonuses, which in banking commonly add 30–100% on top. Blue-collar ranges are base pay and often exclude employer-provided housing and food.

Pay for the same job title varies enormously by hiring market and nationality in the UAE — the same role can span three to five times depending on where the candidate was recruited from.

Frequently asked questions

What is the highest paying job in the UAE?
Senior executive and partner-level roles top the published ranges: law firm partners at US and UK firms and chief development officers in real estate reach AED 119,000–248,000 a month, and investment banking managing directors AED 89,000–141,000, before bonuses.
How much do engineers earn in Dubai?
Civil engineers typically earn AED 15,000–30,000 a month and software engineers AED 13,000–23,000. Senior and specialist engineering roles in oil, gas and infrastructure run considerably higher.
Do UAE salaries include benefits?
Usually yes. UAE packages typically bundle basic salary with housing, transport and sometimes education allowances, plus annual flights and medical cover. Recruiter guides quote the combined fixed package, which is why headline figures can look higher than base pay.
All figures are modelled estimates compiled 2026-08-03 from the World Inequality Database, UBS Global Wealth Report, UAE Federal Competitiveness & Statistics Centre, Henley & Partners, and published recruiter salary guides. Full methodology and sources.
